Life in bits and pieces – Aug 2016

Aug 30, 2016 | Life

This is the end of August and about 6 weeks since we have moved into our new home but so far the biggest change in our everyday is that we are no longer homeschooling!

Yes, you have read it right. After 8 months of living on top of each other, taking life “slowly”, making decisions on a whim, my two buddies have deserted me for the school down the road… I am not going to lie, that was a shock to the system and their eagerness to leave my warm embrace has somehow shaken my feelings a little bit. But hey ho, they are loving it and I am very ready to do the same.

I have spent the first couple of days a little bit heart broken, wallowing around like an abandoned puppy at the shelter, and so to make the days quicker I have dedicated all my time to eating Nutella out of the jar while watching daytime French TV. It was ace.

Their first week went very smoothly, except that by Friday I was already done with the alarm clock and the boys were done with having to behave themselves. Oh and packing lunches. THAT is not something I have missed while homeschooling. Look at me Packed lunch, I despise you!

Although saying this, lately I seem to have developed a great interest in cooking and baking and this is why there is something I now NEED and it is a Tangerine Kitchen Aid. Not because it is a thing of beauty, well not just, but because there is a whole world made of bread/cake/pasta/sausage making ahead of you once you own on of these! Who needs kids at home when you have a Kitchen Aid?

I also still have embroidery to turn to I guess. That passion I have rediscovered which I have had to store away for a few weeks because of our move. I have designs and patterns dancing in my head but the idea of pulling out my fabric and threads is paralyzing and I have no idea why. It is not even because I can’t find it amongst the boxes…

And there is the house! O.M.G there is so so much I want to do from big to small jobs and yet again I don’t know where to start. I wonder if there is a kind of KonMary method for this sort of first world problem?

Anyway, that was August and it was fun and super hot. So September the door is open for you, please come in, just make sure you bring in cooler temperature, the gorgeous orange and red hues that you are really good at and that smell of cinnamon that used to make me feel sick but somehow I grew to love!
